Here’s a great idea for those of you book lovers.
My new friend Roberta runs an International Children’s and Youth Book Exchange where participants send and receive a book each book exchange they’d like to participate in. We’ve done this twice and have received fabulous books from all over the world, including the States, Belgium and South Korea. Often the sender will include a map, postcard or brochure about the place they live in. It’s a super idea.
Here’s how it works:
- Each month (or sometimes more) you can choose to receive a book (or more) from a selected country. You also are opting to send a book to someone else. (You send the same number that you opt to receive).
- Participants are not required to send a new book, or a book of a minimum value, but are expected to send a book in the condition and of a value they would appreciate receiving.
- Participants can share the age, gender, and interests of their child/children with the group member that will be sending them a book.
- Roberta individually sends each person the address of the person who you will send a book to.
It’s just that simple and such a fun way to connect with families around the world.

You never know, you might even receive a book from me sometime. 🙂
